Do you sell Gel Stain in Europe?

We do not import Gel Stain, which is a solvent based product to the UK or Europe due to its Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) level. We now only import and distribute water based products which offer excellent performance and benefits in ease of use.

The General Finishes new formula Water Based Wood Stain is a good alternative to consider and while not identical, the new formula has many of the characteristics of the Gel Stain.

To obtain a very similar product to Gel Stain mix 20% to 25% Water Based Wood Stain with High Performance in Satin to make a Toner. The Colour closest to Java is Espresso and you should Top Coat with High Performance in Satin. 

Note Gel Stain is still available in many parts of the USA and in other markets.

Could you tell me which water based wood stain is the closest colour to the oil based gel stain Java?

Hi Serena, sorry we missed your question. For anyone else wishing to know, Expresso Water Based Wood Stain is the closest to Java. Or if applying many coats of Java (so no longer showing the wood grain), then Dark Chocolate Milk Paint was produced to match 'painted on' Java colour.
