Introducing GF's Brushable White Enamel

PR: Euro Finishes launch General Finishes new Brushable White Enamel, a solution, to applying white paint onto furniture and cabinets

General Finishes are introducing a brushable bright white paint that uses a new polymer system and formula that allows a finish similar to their popular spray applied Enduro White Poly.

Tom Monahan from General Finishes explained “White Poly and Brushable White Enamel have similar durability, but different polymer systems. The ingredients that make Brushable White Enamel brushable, cause it to dry slower than White Poly so allowing longer to work with the paint.”

Brushable White Enamel is designed for those who require a professional non-yellowing finish without the need for spray equipment. Nor does it require a separate top coat.

Brushable White Enamel can be applied to raw wood or existing finishes. When applying over an existing finish or over woods with high tannin content, the surface should be prepped properly. The use of General Finishes Stain Blocker is recommended on both raw wood and existing finishes to prevent tannins or stain bleed-through.

FAQ:

What shade of white is Brushable White Enamel?

A bright white, similar in colour to our Snow White Milk Paint and Enduro White Poly.

How does Brushable White Enamel compare to Enduro White Poly?

White Poly and Brushable White Enamel have similar durability, but different polymer systems. The ingredients that make Brushable White Enamel "brushable" cause it to dry slower than White Poly, making it impractical for professional cabinet refinishers who require fast dry stacking ability. Brushable White Enamel is designed for those who want a professional non-yellowing finish but don't have the spray equipment to do so.

Can Brushable White Poly be used over an existing finish?

Brushable White Enamel can be applied to raw wood or existing finishes. When applying over an existing finish or over woods with high tannin content, be sure to prep your surface properly.  The use of GF’s Stain Blocker is recommended on both raw wood and existing finishes to prevent tannins or stain bleed-through

Can I use an additional topcoat over Brushable White Enamel for added durability?

No, we do not recommend top-coating Brushable White Enamel.

Can Brushable White Enamel be tinted?

Yes, Brushable White Enamel can only be tinted to a light neutral or pastel shade with a zero VOC UTC colourant. A different product, our clear base would be required when tinting to a mid-range or darker colour.
